Big trip tommorrow

Shawn and I are going down to PA tommorrow. I used to call it down home-but I really feel like here is home. If you are in PA, it isn't that we think less of there, I just love it here, and ya gotta be happy where God has ya, right?

Anyway, Shawn's Gramma Owen passed away, so we are going down to a bittersweet celebration of her life. We are sad she is gone, but so glad she is in Heaven waiting for us, and praising our Lord.

We plan to visit some friends and my parents as well as Shawn's parents of course.

It has the potential to be a great trip. Lots of time to talk for Shawn and I in the car. I love car trips for that reason. Used to love it better before cell phones. Hopefully we can turn them off and go back to the olden days, when the car was one place we couldn't be interrupted. Back when we were ministering to youth, I just begged sometimes to take a drive to get away from the phone. Not that I didn't love the kids--please never think that. I just needed a few minutes with my beloved, focused on us. If you are married you will understand what I mean. Youth mean you have that many children, some more vocal than others. I miss working with the kids...but I digress. God has us in a different season and place now, and it is amazing all on its own.

Since I last blogged, I have been walking about 2 miles a day. Sometimes all at once and sometimes at 2 different times during the day. My pedometer is off so I was so sure I had done 3 miles (boy did it feel like it) but alas no, we clocked it with the car and it was closer to 2 miles. So I am guesstimating, by looking at the actual and subtracting. What does it matter anyway, I am 3 weeks out of surgery and walking, Praise God, and I am happy with that.

My quilt has turned out quite dreadfully, I have decided to quilt it still, sign it with a childs name, age and date it for 1834 or some such date. Then tea stain it and say it is really primitive... Ok, I know that sounds horrible, but if you saw it you would know what I mean... I will never say, "I am a quilter." I am an artist that paints not quilts. And that is OK, golly gee whiz! It was fun and that was what I was going for.

Ok, gotta jet to bed. Blessings All
